Using Jobulator FAQ
1. What if I forget which email address I used to sign up?
If you forget the email address that you used to sign up with Jobulator, please contact our support team using the "Contact Us" page here: www.jobulator.com/Contact. Please include your full name and Aesop phone number so that we can find your account.
2. Why does Jobulator ask for my Aesop Pin?
We also request that you enter your PIN when you accept a job in Jobulator, in order to verify that it's really you clicking that mouse to accept a job (and not your 6-year-old or pet ferret). As with activating the program, we are simply trying to confirm your identity.
3. What if I have multiple PIN numbers? Can I see jobs in multiple districts?
Yes! You can use any of your Aesop PINs from the districts that we list as participating in Jobulator. If you have created a six-digit multiple-district PIN in Aesop, you can also use that six digit PIN. With any of your PINs, Jobulator will display jobs from all of your participating districts. If any of your districts aren't currently participating, feel free to let them know about your interest in Jobulator.
When you bring Jobulator to life for the very first time using your unique 16-digit Activation Key, Jobulator requires you to enter your Aesop PIN. This is a one-time process, not something you have to do every time you turn on your computer. Jobulator asks for your PIN in order to verify that the Activation Key you enter is actually yours. Without PIN verification, if you were to accidentally enter an incorrect Key that belonged to someone else, Jobulator would show you the other person's jobs, not yours. PIN verification ensures that you and every other Jobulator customer see the right available jobs.
4. How do I accept a job using Jobulator?
In order to accept an available assignment displayed on Jobulator, simply
- Click the "Details" button on the job you are interested in.
- Once on the details screen, enter your Aesop PIN.
- Press Enter on your or keyboard or click the Accept button with your mouse.
- If the job is successfully assigned to you, your Confirmation Number as well as any notes or lesson plans from the teacher will be displayed.
5. Does Jobulator show me different jobs than the ones available on Aesop?
No, the available jobs displayed in Jobulator are the same ones you would see if you logged in to Aesop. Jobulator just saves you from having to log in and search for jobs throughout the day. You can just sit back, relax, and wait to hear those jobs roll in.
6. If I use Jobulator can I still see jobs on Aesop?
Yes. You can log in to Aesop anytime you like and see the exact same jobs (plus all the other great information Aesop always provides). Jobulator in NO WAY prevents jobs from going to AesopEducation.com; it just makes searching for those jobs a whole lot more convenient - and who doesn't like that convenience?
7. Can I review or cancel jobs that I have accepted through Jobulator?
At this time, in order to review or cancel assignments that you have accepted through Jobulator, you must log in to the Aesop website. Jobs accepted through Jobulator will be displayed there just like jobs you have accepted through the website. Aesop handles your Jobulator-accepted jobs just like any other job assignment.
8. Can I share Jobulator/My Activation Key with someone else?
Yes and No. It is possible to take turns using the same Jobulator application with another Jobulator user. You can simply deactivate Jobulator by going to the Help tab on Jobulator and clicking the "Deactivate Jobulator" button. Then the other user can activate the program by entering their activation information. You cannot, however, share your Activation Key. The Activation Key that you received when you registered for your free trial of Jobulator is unique to your Aesop profile. It will only display jobs available to you and will provide your district with your Aesop information when you accept or reject a job.
9. Can I run Jobulator on multiple computers?
You sure can! Click this link: Download Page or go to our Help page at www.jobulator.com and click the "Downloading Jobulator" help button to download the program on your second computer. Then simply use your Activation Key (the one you received when you signed up for a free trial of the program) to activate the second, third, etc. Jobulator program.
10. Can I have multiple Jobulators on one computer?
No, the Adobe® Air® platform that runs Jobulator allows only one instance of a particular application to be running at any given time.
11. How do I adjust the volume?
Jobulator has built-in volume control. To turn off sound, click on the speaker icon in the upper-right hand corner of Jobulator. The button will be blue when the sound is on and grey when sound is turned off. You can also adjust the volume. Hover over the sound button and the control will appear just to the left. Drag the ball to the top of the bar to turn the volume up or down to turn the volume down. You can also adjust the volume by using the volume controls on your computer.
12. Can I change the sound that plays when a new job comes in?
Yes! Choose the Settings tab on Jobulator. There you will see the option to change the "New Jobs Sound." Click the "..." button to search for a new sound file. At this time, Jobulator can only play mp3 files. Select the file that you would like to be your New Jobs Sound and then click Save Settings on Jobulator.
Jobulator provides a number of sound options that can be downloaded from our website. Just go to www.jobulator.com/sound or navigate there by clicking the Help tab on our website. On the help page, click on "Using Jobulator." There you will see the link to the Sounds Center.
13. Why do jobs disappear from the widget?
If a job suddenly disappears from your Jobulator, it is simply because that job is no longer available. Since Jobulator displays only available jobs, if a job is accepted by someone else or the job is canceled for some reason (which could happen even when you're looking at the job), then that job will disappear from Jobulator. You may also receive a message telling you that the job is no longer available if you click on it before it is removed from your Jobulator screen.
14. After I close the widget, where do I go to find it again?
Jobulator can be reopened like any other program on your computer.
PC - Click Start in the lower left-hand corner of your screen, Choose Programs from the menu, and then select Jobulator from your program list.
Mac - Open your Finder tool, Choose Applications, and then select Jobulator from your applications list.
